Bio of Marcia Cross
Well, I’m only on my second Desperate Housewives’ star, but I think it’s pretty interesting that they both are university graduates. I learned a lot about Marcia doing this bio; hope you enjoy!
Marcia Cross
Born: Massachusetts: March 25, 1962
Unlike her Desperate Housewives costar Teri Hatcher, Marcia Cross always wanted to be an actress. She graduated from Julliard, and then got her first acting gig at 22 on the soap “The edge of Night”. She played Liz Corell, a Paleontologist for 6 months in 1984 (when the show ended).
She had various TV movie and TV show spots for a while until she landed her next big roles simultaneously on two soap operas “One Life to Live” (1986-1987) and “Another World”(1986).
Then again she played a few small roles until she landed a role in the ”Knots Landing”. She played Victoria Broyelard for a year until she was offered a role on the show a few of us have heard of, “Melrose Place”.
She played crazy Dr. Kimberly Shaw from 1992-1997.
She left the show in 1997 in order to go back to school, where she got her Masters in Psychology. (Smart Housewives!!!)
Over the years she played guest starring roles on a number of notable TV shows such as “Cheers” (1989), “Who’s the Boss” (1989), “Seinfeld” (1997), “Boy Meets World” (1999), “Spin City” (2000), “Alley McBeal” (2000) and “Everwood” (a recurring roles from 2003-2004).
After a long and diverse career, in 2004 Marcia landed her obsessive compulsive role on Desperate Housewives as Bree Van De Kamp.
