Spoiler alert! We find out more about Drea de Matteo’s DH family

DESPERATE FOR DESPERATE COUNTDOWN: 75 days
Oh MAN I’ve just learned some good stuff about this new family. I’ve been kinda worried about season 6, and I’m not sure why. I think we had such a great pickup with the five-year flash forward in season 5 that I’m worried it’ll be a letdown from here on out? Plus, no Edie? At least 38 percent of the show’s drama left with that woman. (I don’t know how I came up with that number, but it seems like a good percentage, right?)
OK, enough rambling! On to the spoilers:

New Italian family on the block
July 11, 2009 by Amy Bartner
So we finally know who’s going to be part of Drea de Matteo’s family: Jeffrey Nordling and Beau Mirchoff will join the cast of the show as her husband and son, respectively, according to Hollywood Reporter. Nordling (shown above at a premiere in 2008) has been in “24″ and “Dirt” with Courtney Cox.
I assume he’ll lose the goofy hat, but does this look like the kinda guy who could take on Drea? Also, I know I’ve been calling this a lot lately, but Beau Mirchoff’s character looks to be about Julie Mayer’s age……jus’ sayin’…….

Could ‘Desperate Housewives’ get some ‘Lost’ leftovers?
June 8, 2009 by Amy Bartner
There’s been a lot of buzz around this ABC promo showing former “Lost” cast member Dominic Monaghan foosballing it up with Courtney Cox, Patrick Dempsey and Ed O’Neill:
The rumors began, naturally, with Charlie coming back to “Lost.” Yet Michael Ausiello from EW.com reported that there’s a reason ABC is using Dominic in the bit, and it’s not because he’s coming back to the island.
“The real reason Monaghan is featured in that cheeky spot is because he’s actually joining the cast of another hour-long ABC drama series as a full-time series regular,” Michael wrote.
I, of course, (and should) have a …read more
The ‘wives come out for the 20th Annual GLAAD Media Awards
April 20, 2009 by Amy Bartner
A few of the ladies were at the 20th Annual GLAAD Media Awards on Friday, where “Desperate Housewives” picked up an award for outstanding comedy series.
Yay for the gay-friendly ‘wives!
We haven’t seen Brenda Strong and Andrea Bowen in sooooooo long. This made me realize how much I really, really missed Julie. Ugh, she look so good! I don’t even think I love the dress that much (and I certainly don’t love the shoes), but she looks good in both!
‘Desperate Housewives’ cast surprised by show’s extension
February 4, 2009 by Amy Bartner
Andrew Bowen told Kristin Dos Santos from E! Online that she and the rest of the cast were only expecting to do seven seasons — until Marc Cherry announced that he was thinking about doing nine.
“It kind of surprised all of us that he’s contemplating going nine, but if our fans support it, it’s a great thing. If our only problem is should we do more seasons, then you don’t really have a problem. If we can keep it really entertaining and make good television, why not go as long as possible?”

Desperate Housewives didn’t win the SAG award, but…
January 25, 2009 by Amy Bartner
…that doesn’t mean the ladies (and man) of Desperate Housewives didn’t look purty whilst they were losing out to 30 Rock (and didn’t I kinda call that?) for outstanding performance by an ensemble in a comedy series at the 15th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards.
Here, kids, for your enjoyment: a buncha photos from the night.
Eva Longoria Parker looks pheNOMenal in this dress. I love the ruffling at the waist, though I’m worried it’ll start more “is she or isn’t she?” rumors on the ‘nets. The clutch is gorgeous and the peachy color is beautiful on her skin. Can we imagine …read more
Andrea Bowen Will Be Back!
October 1, 2008 by Julie Bonner
Andrea Bowen was one of my favorite characters in Desperate Housewives. She played the part of Julie Mayer, Susan’s daughter, so well and their relationship fascinated me. It definitely was not your typical mother/daughter type of set up. They took turns taking care of each other, with Julie doing the most “taking care of”.
TV Guide has found out that Andrea Bowen’s character will indeed be back. I have no idea if it’s just for one episode or many, but I will take what they’ll give us.
Here’s what they had to say about Julie:
I loved the relationship between Susan and …read more
Teri Hatcher Not Happy About TV Daughter Not Apart of Regular Cast
May 23, 2008 by Julie Bonner
Supposedly Teri Hatcher was absolutely devastated when she found out that her TV daughter Julie, played by Andrea Bowen, would not be apart of the regular cast next season. When we saw the five year flash forward at the end, there was no Julie in sight, but only some impostor, I mean other man, kissing Susan. We saw no Julie and no Maynard. Hmmmmm….
Hatcher said that she thinks leaving Julie out of next season’s shows is a big mistake. She told USA Today, “She (Bowen) is somebody who I have done the majority of my work with for four years. …read more
