The sexiest man and woman on TV, Simon Baker and Eva Longoria Parker

March 25, 2009 by Amy Bartner

As mentioned before, Eva was named the sexiest woman on TV. (As if we didn’t already know that, right?)

Here, she and the sexiest man on TV (Simon Baker from “The Mentalist”) celebrate their sexiness together, at a party held for TV Guide’s Sexiest Stars at the Sunset Tower Hotel in West Hollywood on Tuesday.

Eva Longoria Parker, sexiest woman on American TV!

March 20, 2009 by Amy Bartner

I mean, YEAH she is.

A TV Guide poll has named Eva Longoria Parker as the sexiest woman on U.S. television for 2009. It’s a funny thing, she says, because most of the last year she’s been playing a “frumpy” housewife.

If she’s frumpy, then she’s obviously the hottest frumpy housewife in the country.

The hottest woman on American TV in the world is shown above at the Montblanc Signature for Good party on Feb. 20.

Teri Hatcher to win the 2009 “Heart of Gold Award”

February 26, 2009 by Amy Bartner

The Starlight Children’s Foundation just announced that it will honor Teri Hatcher with the “Heart of Gold Award” at the foundation’s annual “A Stellar Night” on March 27 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.

As if winning the award wasn’t enough, Teri gets to receive it from Starlight spokesperson Jamie Lee Curtis! JAMIE LEE CURTIS!! I think I could die happy if JLC ever gave me anything. Even a handshake.

The Starlight Children’s Foundation works to help families and children cope with serious medical conditions, and they do it through entertainment and family activities (and have for the past 25 years).

Congraaaaatulations, Teri!

Desperate Housewives didn’t win the SAG award, but…

January 25, 2009 by Amy Bartner

…that doesn’t mean the ladies (and man) of Desperate Housewives didn’t look purty whilst they were losing out to 30 Rock (and didn’t I kinda call that?) for outstanding performance by an ensemble in a comedy series at the 15th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards.

Here, kids, for your enjoyment: a buncha photos from the night.

Eva Longoria Parker looks pheNOMenal in this dress. I love the ruffling at the waist, though I’m worried it’ll start more “is she or isn’t she?” rumors on the ‘nets. The clutch is gorgeous and the peachy color is beautiful on her skin. Can we imagine what that’d look like on my never-seen-sun skin? It takes a special lady to pull this off. The only thing I’m NOT in love with is the top. It looks a little like she stuck her arms through some ripped pantyhose, then had an expensive designer sew it to a dress. Oh, and Tony’s lookin’ sharp, too. (Even though he always seems to be looking in the opposite direction in every photo he’s ever shot with Eva. Have you noticed this?)

100 episodes! A Desperate Housewives timeline

January 17, 2009 by Amy Bartner

Variety ran this timeline of the ‘wives, from the beginning — when marketers promoted the show with dry-cleaning bags. It’s an interesting look back, and I can’t believe we’re just a day away from the 100th episode. I viiiividly remember when I first saw a commercial advertising the show. My thoughts? “Whaaaat?? Are they seriously going to have a show called ‘Desperate Housewives’? That’s so sleazy.” Anyway, to make a long story short, I fell in love with them and five years later I had their baby, which we named DesperateBlog.com. The end!

The Variety package on the 100th episode goes on with this story about the ladies’ relationship. Eva Longoria Parker and Teri Hatcher say they’re all close and great friends. Do you guys believe it? I sincerely hope that’s true, but I’m doubtful. I can see Eva, Felicity Huffman and Marcia Cross being great friends, but I’m not sure about the others.

Eva Longoria-Parker to present at the Golden Globes

January 10, 2009 by Amy Bartner

Eva Longoria-Parker will join more than 30 celebrities presenting at the Golden Globes, at 8 p.m. Sunday on NBC (thankfully, it won’t interrupt her other OTHER show), according to the L.A. Times.

Others presenting with her include Zachary Quinto from Heroes (EEP!!), Seth Rogen, Jennifer Lopez, Blake Lively, Johnny Depp and a bunch more.

OK, but more importantly, and because I bashed Teri so hard yesterday, can we talk about how gorgeous Eva is in the above photo, taken at the 14th Annual Critic’s Choice Awards on Thursday??

Eva’s one of those people who constantly changes her hair with extensions/cuts/styles, and maaaan I love these bangs on her. They’ve completely changed the way she looks, but in a good way. (She looked so different that when I was searching for these photos, I saw the little thumbnail and was like “Nooooo, search button, I said Eva Longoria, not Jessica Alba!”)

The color of the dress? Gorgeous.

The Cleopatra thing she’s got going on? Fantastic.

The nude shoes? Amaaaazing. The shape of that shoe is unbelieveably flattering. I wasn’t sure about the nude look when it first started, but the shoe styles themselves often are so beautiful, it won me over quickly. Plus, think of the versatitility! (It’s a little too taupe for Gaby, however.)

Here’s a good question: What do you think Eva will wear to the Golden Globes? She’s been wearing blue a lot lately. I mean, if a color looked that good on me, you wouldn’t see me wearing anything else…

Teri Hatcher at the People’s Choice Awards

January 9, 2009 by Amy Bartner

Here’s Teri Hatcher at the 35th Annual People’s Choice Awards on Wednesday. What do you guys think about the getup?

Listen…I know I’m probably going to get stoned for this one, because every entertainment/fashion site is raving about her simple, black look….but I don’t like it. In fact, I don’t like it one bit. The wrappiness of it isn’t draped right, making her boobs look weird.

I don’t hate the cinching at the bottom, but the side bows are about two inches bigger than they need to be.

And…long sleeves? Not just long…long with a slight poof in the shoulders? They seem like they’re oddly bigger in the bicep area, and we all know String-Bean Arms has…string-bean arms.

The shoes are fine, but nothing special. And they look a little too small. Teri’s toes seem like they’re singing “I’m Coming Out” by Diana Ross — loudly.

I like the simple jewelry, but man…couldn’t we have added some color with the clutch? I know, I know. It’s winter. We’re all supposed to be wearing dark colors and be sad and depressed. I refuse to give in. I’m going to wear yellow and smile all winter! What now, emo kids?

And now, for something positive: The length is perfect for her perfect legs.

Desperate Housewives up for SAG award!

December 19, 2008 by Amy Bartner

Yes, kids, it’s true: One awards show didn’t leave the ‘wives in the suburban dust this year.

Desperate Housewives was nominated for outstanding performance by an ensemble in a comedy series. Other nominees are 30 Rock, Entourage, The Office and Weeds.

Should I be as surprised as I am to see it in the comedy category? It’s obviously not entirely a drama, either, but let’s face it…even though Marc Cherry’s wives are hilarious, funny and witty, they can’t hang with Tina Fey or Steve Carell when it comes to comedy.

The show got no individuals noms, but that’s OK by me. This series started with Susan as the “main” character and now has become a huge ensemble, where every character on Wisteria Lane is valuable.

The 15th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards airs live on TNT and TBS at 8 p.m. eastern time, Jan. 25.

Golden Globes passes over Desperate Housewives

December 13, 2008 by Amy Bartner

I saw the Golden Globes nomination list when it was released a few days ago, and didn’t really have any feelings one way or another about Desperate Housewives’ absence from it….that is, until I started thinking more about it.

And then I got angry.

So I did what I usually do when I get so infuriated I wanna scream obsenities out my window: I wrote a letter I never intend to send!

Dear Hollywood Foreign Press Association,

Why’d you snub the ‘wives? You like new things. You like different. You like risky — yet effective — work. Desperate Housewives Season 5 is all of those things.

So, dear HFPAfolk, why the brush-off?

Eva Longoria 2008 ALMA Awards Arrivals

August 20, 2008 by Julie Bonner

MaximoTV was at the 2008 ALMA Awards and caught up with Eva Longoria and husband NBA star Tony Parker. They wanted to ask some gossipy questions but were only allowed to ask two questions about the ALMA awards. Bummer! That’s no fun.
