After we spent most of last season NOT seeing Julie Mayer (played by Andrea Bowen), I’m hearing from multiple sources that she’ll be back when the season resumes on Sept. 27. (yay!!)

Hollywood Reporter is also saying that Andrea’s working on her first album of pop-rock songs she wrote. I can’t wait to have Julie back AND to hear Andrea’s music.

How do we think it’ll be?

Cast caught filming at a church: Wedding bells?

May 7, 2009 by Amy Bartner

SEMI-SPOILER ALERT!

The cast of “Desperate Housewives” was caught filming at Hollywood Presbyterian Church last week. We can assume that a church = wedding, yes?

From the looks of it, Mike and Orson are the only two men who are super well-dressed. Also safe to assume that Orson’s not going to get married. Jackson’s no where in sight, and neither are Susan or Katherine. So essentially, these photos don’t help up as at all in figuring out who’s getting married. Tom looks adorable in the sneaks, though, and Tony Parker came to visit his wife on the set! All together now: Aaaaawwwwww!

William H. Macy on wife, Felicity Huffman: She makes me melt

March 30, 2009 by Amy Bartner

This interview with Parade magazine is so unbelievably adorable.

Here’s what William H. Macy had to say about his wife being part of a gorgeous cast of women:

“The others are sort of model beautiful women and Felicity is not a model type. But I think she’s the sexiest on that show. What is sexy? It’s hard to put it into words. The way she carries herself. And she keeps in really great shape. She’s got the kind of body that makes me melt. She’s cut. She’s strong and lithe and capable. I love that.”

A couple like this is hard to find anywhere — let alone in Hollywood.

Felicity Huffman on ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’ on Thursday!

March 11, 2009 by Amy Bartner

OK, I can’t take this one. For those of you who don’t work during the day, I’m completely jealous that you’ll be able to watch Felicity Huffman talk to Ellen on Thursday (11 a.m. in my part of the country — check out www.ellentv.com to see what time she’ll be on for you!). She’ll talk about her new movie, “Phoebe in Wonderland.” She’s shown above at the March 1 screening with Elle Fanning.

These two ladies are two of my favorite people. And Olympic gymnast Shawn Johnson will be on it, too! No worries, though. I’ll immediately come home and Google the living daylights out of it to find a clip to post for everyone else who missed it!!

Nicollette walks dog, hugs Felicity on the set of ‘Desperate Housewives’

March 2, 2009 by Amy Bartner

Maybe there’s something in the San Pellegrino on Wisteria Lane, but it seems like we’ve seen a lot of hugging between castmates lately (and no, I’m not talking about the soon-to-be infamous kiss between Teri Hatcher and Eva Longoria Parker).

First, Felicity Huffman and Nicollette Sheridan share a hug on Friday on the set of the show (and Nicollette later looks like a picture-perfect model while walking her dog) and then Felicity gives Eva a squeeze during the screening of her new movie, “Phoebe in Wonderland.”

Some of the ‘wives attend ‘Phoebe in Wonderland’ screening

March 2, 2009 by Amy Bartner

Eva Longoria Parker, Marcia Cross and Dana Delany came out to support Felicity Huffman at the screening of her new movie, “Phoebe in Wonderland” on Sunday.

I’m not quite sure what Marcia and Dana are wearing (and haven’t we seen Eva’s shoes already? Good to know she’s like the rest of us and doesn’t wear a pair of shoes only once!) but isn’t this next photo the cutest thing you’ve ever seen? I love it when photographers catch genuine stuff like this, because it’s gotta be real. Right?

In this photo, Eva is thinking: “Man, Felicity, you really _________”

Felicity Huffman in ‘Phoebe in Wonderland’

March 1, 2009 by Amy Bartner

Maybe I’m behind in keeping up with movies coming out (probably because the only movie I’ve seen so far this year is “He’s Just Not That Into You”), but I just discovered this charming little movie called “Phoebe in Wonderland,” starring Dakota Fanning’s equally adorable (and apparently talented?) little sister, Elle Fanning.

Felicity plays Elle’s mother, who becomes frustrated when she can’t please her own daughter. Hmm….other than the frumpy brown wig, gotta say…this sounds like a familiar character to me.

Anyway, the movie’s released on March 6, this Friday. I mean, what else are you going to do when DH goes on a break and leaves us hungry to see our ladies? Hope this trailer whets your appetite.

Desperate Housewives didn’t win the SAG award, but…

January 25, 2009 by Amy Bartner

…that doesn’t mean the ladies (and man) of Desperate Housewives didn’t look purty whilst they were losing out to 30 Rock (and didn’t I kinda call that?) for outstanding performance by an ensemble in a comedy series at the 15th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards.

Here, kids, for your enjoyment: a buncha photos from the night.

Eva Longoria Parker looks pheNOMenal in this dress. I love the ruffling at the waist, though I’m worried it’ll start more “is she or isn’t she?” rumors on the ‘nets. The clutch is gorgeous and the peachy color is beautiful on her skin. Can we imagine what that’d look like on my never-seen-sun skin? It takes a special lady to pull this off. The only thing I’m NOT in love with is the top. It looks a little like she stuck her arms through some ripped pantyhose, then had an expensive designer sew it to a dress. Oh, and Tony’s lookin’ sharp, too. (Even though he always seems to be looking in the opposite direction in every photo he’s ever shot with Eva. Have you noticed this?)

100 episodes! A Desperate Housewives timeline

January 17, 2009 by Amy Bartner

Variety ran this timeline of the ‘wives, from the beginning — when marketers promoted the show with dry-cleaning bags. It’s an interesting look back, and I can’t believe we’re just a day away from the 100th episode. I viiiividly remember when I first saw a commercial advertising the show. My thoughts? “Whaaaat?? Are they seriously going to have a show called ‘Desperate Housewives’? That’s so sleazy.” Anyway, to make a long story short, I fell in love with them and five years later I had their baby, which we named DesperateBlog.com. The end!

The Variety package on the 100th episode goes on with this story about the ladies’ relationship. Eva Longoria Parker and Teri Hatcher say they’re all close and great friends. Do you guys believe it? I sincerely hope that’s true, but I’m doubtful. I can see Eva, Felicity Huffman and Marcia Cross being great friends, but I’m not sure about the others.

Felicity sticks to gender roles in her marriage to William H. Macy

January 17, 2009 by Amy Bartner

Felicity Huffman and William H. Macy are shown at Los Angeles International Airport in January 2008.

Felicity Huffman talked to the McClatchy-Tribune News Service about how she and William switch up the chores. Here’s what she had to say:

“My husband cleans more than I do,” Huffman said. “Some just go down by gender lines, we’re just so typical. Bill picks up the trash more than I do. I do more of the baby stuff than he does, it just so happens. Sometimes it’s just who hates what. What do you hate doing? I really hate cleaning the kitchen, so Bill cleans the kitchen a lot. I really hate getting gas, and he puts gas in the car.”

Is getting gas a chore? I guess I consider it one when it’s -4 outside…
