Aight, kids. It’s been waaaaay too long since we last did this, and I’m extremely excited for this episode. I’m excited even though I just stopped of at Wendy’s for a Frosty, and they were all out of chocolate, so I had to get a vanilla Frosty. Why do those even exist?? But now I’m here, with Neighbor Peggy and Friend Erin, and we’re ready to see the first episode of “Desperate Housewives” in a month.

9:00: Yes! Edie’s narrating. “What can I say? It was one of those days.” The only people who’ve narrated the show have been dead. Mary Alice, Rex. Is she dee-ee-dee ded?
9:01: Yep. Less than a minute into the show, and my soap-opera-coma theory is already wrong. Edie really is DEAD dead. Wow. That’s….it?
9:02: It suddenly occurred to me that maybe this is what Dana Delany meant when she said “dead doesn’t mean dead.” Edie’s going to take over for Mary Alice? I mean, her character is totally moot at this point, right? Nicollette’s leaving the show for good, though, so maybe not.
9:04: So are we going to see all these happy stories about when Edie was fun and nice with everyone? Don’t get me wrong, I loved Edie, but she wasn’t the girl next door.
9:05: “Funny and likes to gossip? We’re going to get along just fine,” -Susan. Uh-huh. Yup. Until you BURN EACH OTHER’S HOUSES DOWN?
9:06: Thank the high harlotty heavens! Edie just said she was sleeping with a married neighbor. Good thing we’re not having happy-memory time like the 100th episode, with Eli Scruggs.

100 episodes! A Desperate Housewives timeline

January 17, 2009 by Amy Bartner

Variety ran this timeline of the ‘wives, from the beginning — when marketers promoted the show with dry-cleaning bags. It’s an interesting look back, and I can’t believe we’re just a day away from the 100th episode. I viiiividly remember when I first saw a commercial advertising the show. My thoughts? “Whaaaat?? Are they seriously going to have a show called ‘Desperate Housewives’? That’s so sleazy.” Anyway, to make a long story short, I fell in love with them and five years later I had their baby, which we named DesperateBlog.com. The end!

The Variety package on the 100th episode goes on with this story about the ladies’ relationship. Eva Longoria Parker and Teri Hatcher say they’re all close and great friends. Do you guys believe it? I sincerely hope that’s true, but I’m doubtful. I can see Eva, Felicity Huffman and Marcia Cross being great friends, but I’m not sure about the others.

Watching and Recapping Desperate Housewives - Season 1

June 5, 2008 by Julie Bonner

season-1-desperate-housewives.jpgEarlier last week I asked you which Desperate Housewives season you would like to watch and for me to recap during the summer months, while we wait for season 5 to start. The votes are in and season 4 won. Unfortunately, I realized afterwards that we can’t watch all of season 4 yet. The DVD isn’t out until September and abc.com only has a few episodes online.

Since season 1 came in second place, I am going to go with that one. I have been wanting to start from the beginning anyway, because Desperate Housewives was so amazing and great when it first came out. Not that it’s not now, I just love season 1!

So, how about we start watching season 1, one episode a week, starting the week of June 15th. That will give those of you who would like to order it some time to do so. You can check out the Desperate Housewives - The Complete First Season DVD here Until then, I will continue to bring you updated DH news and also what the stars of the show are up to.

I am looking forward to watching and recapping season 1. I hope you will join me! :D

Marcia Cross on Ellen - 4/08/08

April 12, 2008 by Julie Bonner

Marcia Cross was on Ellen the other day and it was so great to see her! They showed her a clip of Teri Hatcher’s ‘Idol Gives Back‘ performance and then Ellen showed a clip of Marcia singing and it was hilarious!

Marcia mentioned that her girls are now 13 months old and they showed a beautiful picture of her with her babies. I was laughing pretty hard at a couple of comments Ellen made about them.

After that they talk about Desperate Housewives!! She lets us know that her husband’s secrets are starting to come out and her troubled relationship with Katherine. She also said that they are shooting the finale right now. Wow, that was fast!!

Then, Ellen asks her about the rumor that the show flashes forward 5 years and that’s how it ends, in the future. And what is Marcia’s response? Yes, it’s true!! After that, for the rest of the episodes, they are in the future telling the story backwards. Oh my goodness! I hope I don’t get all confused. Marcia says she trust we will all follow along. Okay, I think I believe her. :) Ellen brings up the show Lost and how it’s so confusing with the subtitles. I totally agree. I have been lost on Lost for quite some time now.

So, are you all ready for Sunday?! I’ll have a recap of the show after it’s over so be sure and stop by!

Susan’s Karaoke Scene from Episode 1.11 “Move On”

March 11, 2008 by Julie Bonner

This is one of my favorite scenes from Season 1 of Desperate Housewives. It’s in episode 1.11 entitled “Move On“. Do you all remember Susan’s karaoke scene? Too funny! She’s not bitter. Nah, not one bit.
