Another great Desperate Housewives episode! Can you believe that the season finale is next week? It’s over WAY too soon. What are we going to do all summer long? I guess follow the stars around and talk about old episodes. Sounds fun to me. :D Okay, here’s my Desperate Housewives recap for episode 4×15 “Mother Said”.

Gabby, Carlos and Ellie

Gabby finds out that Ellie is a drug dealer. Just when they were really enjoying her and they consider her a friend. She cleans the house, helps take care of Carlos (and is nice to him, lol!) and Gabby and Carlos realized they don’t fight as much with her around. Things were going so well! Until…

Ellie took Carlos out for a walk and Gabby heard the smoke alarm go off in Ellie’s room. She used Ellie’s keys and opened the door. As she was fiddling with the smoke alarm, a piece fell under the bed. She looked under the bed and found several bricks of cocaine and a scale. Uh-oh. Not good.

Gabby told Carlos and he started to call the police. Gabby stopped him and said that she was their friend. Carlos reminded her that he is a convicted felon on parole and that if the police found out they had a drug dealer living there he could get in a lot of trouble.

Before Gabby knew what was going on with Ellie, she met one of her customers and asked to see his tattoo. Obviously Ellie didn’t give him a tattoo, so she told Gabby that he couldn’t show it to her because it was way down south, lol. Gabby’s expression was hilarious. Then she asks “Does it hurt?” and he said he was all right.

Gabby and Carlos were at the police station letting them know what was going on, when in walks the guy that was at their house for his “tattoo”. Come to find out he is an under cover cop trying to find out who Ellie’s handler is. He said she was small time so they needed to get to the source.

On Mother’s Day Gabby was fixing lunch and she told Carlos that she was having a really hard time with this because Ellie was a friend and he told her that she can’t think of him as a friend. She’s a drug dealer. Gabby calls Ellie to lunch and when she comes into the dining room, Ellie surprises her with a bouquet of flowers and tells her that she doesn’t have a good relationship with her mom and just wanted to thank her for being so nice to her. They hugged and Gabby looked so sad.

Edie, Orson and Bree

The rest of the recap is below the cut.

Oh boy! Things got good with this story line. Bree decided she was going to sabotage Edie’s business, so she approached a client Edie was showing a house to and told her just what kind of Realtor she was dealing with. We see the couple driving off and Edie saying, ‘But things were going so well’ and then she looks over and there is Bree, with that smirk on her face.

We also saw Orson go to Bree’s house and ask to see Benjamin. Bree told him no and he said that he hadn’t seen him and wanted to take him to a carnival. Bree said if he wants to visit a carnival then he should go see Edie. They each said they had and were getting lawyers and it appears that things are getting nastier between them.

Later, Edie goes to Orson’s hotel room and he is in the shower. She calls his name and tells him that his wife is getting out of control. He peeks his head out and says he’ll be right out. Edie turns around and sees a pad of paper with something written on it. She reads it and it is the story about Benjamin and how he is Danielle and Austin’s and not Bree and Orson’s. Bree tells Orson never mind that she can deal with Bree on her own.

Edie heads over to Bree’s and completely black mails her. She tells her that they are family and Bree asks her what she means. Edie says that since she is Benjamin’s great aunt that that makes them family. Edie tells her she knows all about Benjamin and Bree has a horrified look on her face. Bree tells her to please not tell everyone because this would ruin her family. Edie tells Bree that this just means that she owns her. She wants Bree to invite her to all the fancy parties she throws and introduce her to all of her single friends, as well as bake muffins when she needs them. Edie thinks that Bree is putty in her hands. Little does she know….

Bree goes over to Lynette’s for their game night and when she walks in Susan asks her what’s wrong and Bree says she has something to tell them that she’s been keeping from them. She tells them the whole story and needless to say they are surprised. Gabby asks Bree what she’s going to do and Lynette says, “No, what are we going to do?” Next thing we know we see them all heading toward Edie’s house. Edie sees them marching down the street and she comes outside and asks them what’s going on. Bree tells Edie that she told them everything. They tell Edie that they can not believe that she did this to Bree and that she has finally crossed the line. They tell her she doesn’t know what being a friend is about and so they are going to be something that she does know about, and that’s enemies. They told her that from now on, she’s not invited to anything, they will not wave to her when she jogs by, that she is invisible. As they are walking off Edie says something and they say, “Did you hear something?”

At the end, we see Edie talking to her son on the phone and loading her car with a suitcase. She said she is coming to spend some time with him and that she may be spending a lot of time with him. She said “I’ll tell you more later.”

Lynette and Kayla

The kids all came home from school to find Lynette and Tom meeting with a counselor. They told the kids that he would be watching them in order to help them become a better family.

Lynette and Tom sit down with the counselor and Lynette tells him about Kayla and that she is the problem. Kayla hears her and then comes down acting all sweet, and gives Lynette a hug and a card. The counselor later ask Lynette if she loves Kayla and she says that of course she does. Lynette agrees to spend more time with Kayla, so they go shopping.

Kayla is asking for everything from expensive clothes to a corn dog right before dinner. Lynette refuses to buy her the corn dog and Kayla says that if she wants things to go well that she better buy it for her. She will be nice as long as she gets what she wants. Lynette asks what she means and she says that she got the boys to jump off the roof, she wondered what she could get Penny to do. Lynette gets so angry that she slaps her right there in the middle of the store.

The next morning, all of the kids except for Kayla, bring Lynette breakfast in bed for Mother’s Day. Lynette asks where Kayla is and Tom says she is still pretty upset. Tom asks Lynette not to talk about it again because he’ll get angry all over again. Lynette says that he should have heard what she said and Tom said that she’s just a kid and now she’s a scared little kid.

Next we see Kayla talking to the counselor on the phone and she tells him that her mom hit her and she says “No, it wasn’t the first time.” She hangs up quickly because she says Lynette is coming.

Dylan, Wayne and Katherine

Well, this story just got real interesting. Kayla approaches Katherine about a house listing she saw printed out for a house in Baltimore. Dylan asks her about it and Katherine says that they need to get away from her father, Wayne, that she doesn’t know him like she does. Dylan said she can move, but she’s staying here.

Dylan invites Wayne to a recital and Wayne offers to pick up Katherine, saying that they could make it a family outing. Katherine asks Dylan to go inside, but to spit her gum out first. Wayne says that he’s still interested in her and Katherine says that she has done so many bad things, that she doesn’t know if he could forgive her. He asks what she means and she says that she was with a lot of men during their marriage and he says he doesn’t believe her. She then tells him that Dylan is not even her daughter and she asks if he can still forgive her, being completely sarcastic of course. Katherine says that she guesses there will be no family outings after all.

Wayne starts to approach Katherine like he’s about to hit her and Katherine calls out to a neighbor and says hi. He backs off and as Katherine is headed inside, he takes the gum that Dylan was chewing on.

He has a woman from the police station run a dna test on what he tells her is a suspect and a victim. It was actually a test of Dylan’s gum and a cotton swab with his dna. The girl tells him that it’s not a match, meaning that he is not her father.

We later see Wayne at home drinking and watching videos of Kayla. He’s watching one of her as a little girl riding her bike and she shows him her scar on her arm from when she fell. She says that she had 11 stitches. He calls Dylan and asks her to come over to the house tomorrow, even though it’s Mother’s Day, he has some things he wants to tell her about her mother.

Dylan comes over and she can see that Wayne is messed up. He’s acting weird, there are beer cans everywhere and he tells her he had a rough day yesterday. He then holds her arm and then notices that she has no scar on either arm from her stitches. He yells at her and asks her to leave. She looks scared and upset and we see her back at home hugging her mom.

Where is this story headed….

Susan, Mike and Mike’s Mom

The whole thing with Mike’s mom and Susan was just hilarious! Mike needs to learn to keep his mouth shut and not complain about Susan so much.

It all starts with Mike’s mom getting out of the car and giving Susan a big ‘ol southern hug. Susan sure looks nervous. They then go inside and she gives Susan a book with all of her recipes in it. Susan says that she can’t cook and Mike’s mom says that she knows and she’s going to help her with that. Susan looks thrilled.

Mike’s mom continually is insulting Susan and telling her things that Mike has said about her. Susan has finally had enough and we see them sitting at a restaurant. Mike’s mom mentions that Mike looks tired and that she doesn’t know how he gets any sleep because of Susan’s snoring. Mike had complained about Susan’s snoring but he said he has come to love it now. Mike’s mom keeps talking and talking and Susan grabs her water and throws it on her leg, and pretends that her water broke and she’s in labor. She tells Mike’s mom that she better go home and pack and her and Mike leave the restaurant.

As they are walking outside Susan tells Mike that she’s not in labor, but that she couldn’t take his mom’s comments anymore and that Mike had to talk to her. She was saying that she was going to stay and teach Susan how to clean. Susan wanted her gone!! Mike said that he would talk to her.

The next morning Mike’s mom mentions to Susan that is was weird how she went into false labor and that her water broke. She says that doesn’t usually happen. Mike comes in the kitchen and Susan tells him to give her her Mother’s Day present, meaning getting rid of his mom! As Mike is talking Susan starts making weird noises, like she is in labor. Sure enough she was and the show ends and we get to see their new little boy, who we will find out in the next episode is names….Maynard. Yikes!

Recap Questions:

  • Will Edie stay away?
  • Will Orson and Bree reconcile or get nasty with lawyers?
  • Will Gabby and Carlos protect Ellie?
  • What effect will Kayla’s call to the counselor have on their family?
  • If Wayne isn’t Dylan’s father, then where is his real daughter?
  • What kind of father will Mike be?

Overall, I thought this was a great episode and I enjoyed it. It had just enough twists and turns to keep me interested and I really can not wait until the 2 hour season finale!! What did you think about it?

Great episode, as always. This season rules… I know next week will be this 5-year-flashforward and I’m very sad about that…

I’m sad too Tony. I am just not sure about it.

Sure is gonna be tricky and will invite some speculation but I’m sure Marc Cherry won’t disappoint us… I just hope that it won’t be like other shows who just spoiled everything with these flashforward stuff… Desperate Housewives might be affected by this decision, but then again, maybe it will be even better, who knows? :)
