Desperate Housewives Computer Game
I have my doubts about this computer game. A lot of fans of the TV show Desperate Housewives are older women and dirty old men…hehe…who aren’t the demographic who play computer games. I’d play it, but I don’t think I’d buy the game. Someone should buy it for me…hint hint…
LOS ANGELES - Walt Disney Co.‘s (NYSE:DIS - news) Buena Vista Games Inc. said on Friday it plans to release a PC video game based on the popular television show “Desperate Housewives” this fall.
Inthe game, players take on the role of a new Wisteria Lane housewife,who can uncover or create new scandals on the seemingly idyllic streetwhere the show takes place.
“Sometimesyou just want to be more in that world than you can be on TV,” saidMary Schuyler, the game‘s lead producer, who added that playerswill be able to pick their own in-game persona.
“You can be as nice or as mean as you‘d like to be,” she said.
ActressBrenda Strong, who is the voice of the show‘s deceased narrator,Mary Alice Young, has signed on to play a similar role in the game.Negotiations are in the works with other cast members, a spokeswomanfor Buena Vista Games said.
The game‘s developer is Liquid Entertainment, creator of the PC game “Dragonshard.”
Videogame makers want to expand their $25 billion global market with titlesthat appeal to audiences other than just young males.
Schuylersaid she hopes the “Desperate Housewives” title will be a hit with theshow‘s female fans and convert some of them into gamers.
