Desperate Housewives Dolls
Would you buy one of the Desperate Housewives dolls? If so, would you get them all or just a few? And how would you choose? I think If I had to get just one I’d get a Gabrielle. I bet she’ll come with some pretty awesome clothes!
My biggest concern though is that the dolls won’t do well because Desperate Housewives fans are older and don’t play with dolls. I can see crazy fans like myself getting them as keepsakes but I just don’t think the dolls will be all that popular.
Hey kids - forget Barbie, how about your very own Desperate Housewife?
The Alexander Doll company has announced it will roll out a new line of dolls based on the hit series Desperate Housewives in the new year. The dolls will be based on the five main characters of the show and will be made to resemble them.
The dolls will be 16 inches tall and will be available for purchase from high end doll retailers.
For those who just want a look, Fashion Doll Quarterly will give a full report on the TV-ready toys in its Spring 2007 issue.

[…] I can’t possibly be the only person who thinks the news (via Desperate Housewives Blog) about the Alexander Doll Company creating plastic Desperate Housewives dolls is a bit strange. First of all, if your children are young enough to play with dolls, they probably shouldn’t be watching Desperate Housewives, and therefore, it seems wrong to have Barbie-like dolls of the cast members of a “not appropriate for children” television show created as a children’s toy. the dolls look NOTHING like the characters!?
The only reason you can tell who they are is because of their hair… and ED looks like a chinese person gone blonde!
