We’ve got a little more insight into the Vitales, the new family on Wisteria Lane. Jeffrey Nordling, who plays husband Nick (married to Drea de Matteo) told Entertainment Tonight that the Vitales have some mysterious past.

“He is not from these parts,” he said. “He doesn’t really belong. There is a dark secret in their past, which you don’t quite figure out in the beginning. But something happened. It is not quite witness protection, but …”

My translation?

“…not quite witness protection, but…” = “we did something really, really bad and are running to the suburbs to hide from it. Like the Applewhites.”

As for his role, he said he’s had a difficult time with the line because Nick Vitale doesn’t talk “as proper as the writers write.”
