More time jumping for the cast of “Desperate Housewives”?
November 28, 2009 by Amy Bartner
So the DH gods took a major risk back in Season 5 when they jumped ahead five years. They proved they could make a drastic plot change while holding true to all of the characters and personalities we all love. Not only that, but they could keep it up for two (well, one and a half) seasons without showing any sign of weakness.
But could they (should they?) do it again?

TV Guide is reporting that the show will flash-forward — “Lost”-style — this season and stop at 10 years in the future. And then 20 years, and then 40 years? This show will air in January, Eva Longoria Parker said Susan Mayer will be the one who, um, changes the most from what we know.
“Teri was on set the other day getting fitted for her fat suit… I’m so excited… They’re going to use prosthetics and everything.”
Fat suit? You don’t say…
I’m excited for Susan in a fat suit, too, Eva.
She went on to say that Krazy Katherine is, well, crazy, so we won’t see her during the flash-forward. And Dana Delany says she saw a gray wig for Gaby, who we’ll see as a grandma, perhaps?
The flash-forward, TV Guide says, is to show how each of the ‘wives lives changes after the plane crash. Unlike the first five-year jump, however, this won’t be a real jump. It’ll be through individual dreams — including someone’s dreams while in surgery.
We’ll also get a chance to see all the kids as adults, which is always fun. Baby Matt Damons + 20 years = uh, regular Matt Damons?
“We’re doing something we’ve never done before,” Marc Cherry said to TV Guide. “It’s our ‘What If’ episode, where we’ll show five scenarios with our Housewives contemplating their lives based on the accident. Those who lost someone imagine what their lives would have been like if their loved ones had lived. Some people imagine what if they hadn’t married the people they married.
“Some of this will be very funny for some characters and heartbreaking for others.”

I’m SO ready to see Fat Susan. Thank you DH gods.
And I’m glad they’re not doing a real jump in time again. To me, thats kind of like cheating and starting over again. I think the dream thing is a better idea. Thanks for the update Amy.
