USA Today has a superb article about Desperate Housewives and we get to hear a few more tidbits about season 5. I’ll highlight some of the best parts.

• Bree is back with Orson and she is a self-made Martha Stewart type.
• The two-minute flash forward scene was not a dream. It’s an attempt to jump-start the show which has fizzled out a little in some viewers eyes.
• A quote from March Cherry: “The thing that made the first year so easy is the women’s lives were very simple and their problems were very small,” says creator Marc Cherry. “But as the years go on with a serialized show, the soap begins to build up. And I kind of wanted to get back to that relatable jumping-off point, you know, just women with everyday problems.“
• James Denton’s character will return and so will some of the other characters in flashbacks.
• A little about Eva’s appearance:”Only Eva was really OK with us trashing her appearance.” But “we have a very funny reason why she gets her appearance back together, about seven or eight episodes in.” (I can’t wait to see that!!)
• Nicollette Sheridan is still a cast member (yay!) and she will be joined by two newcomers who are Neil McDonough, who will play Dave and Gale Harold as Jackson, Susan’s new beau, who kissed her in last season’s finale.
• Season 5 will really go into the lives of these women and we will see why they are so desperate and unhappy.

WOW! I am really looking forward to season 5!! So many exciting new things are coming out. I am still very curious what the story line will be like with Katherine. I haven’t heard much about her. It’s a mystery and I think Marc Cherry wants to leave it that way.

Here is a new Desperate Housewives spoiler for episode 5.01:

The Scavos have a dog. Lynette asks Parker to take Penny to soccer practice since the twins are on lock-down, aka no cellphones, no dating, no driving. Parker agrees as long as they are back by six o’clock so he is not late for a special event happening in his online Lord of the Rings game. The twins got grounded because they threw a party at the restaurant where teens played poker, drank alcohol and smoked cigars. Their defense? “Mom, we didn’t think you would be here.” Lynette learns that the boys have been throwing parties like these for months! They even have the nerves to ask Lynette if they can be grounded in a week because Homecoming is on Friday! Source: SpoilerFix.com

It’s Desperate Housewives spoilers time again! Here are the first few DH spoilers for season 5:

Episode 5.01 - Title Unknown Air date: September 28, 2008

• Porter and Preston Scavo - 15-16 year old identical twins (played by Brent and Shane Kinsman the last 4 seasons) with reddish hair and brown eyes, these mischievous boys are quickly approaching juvenile delinquency. • The show is currently casting for the role of Maynard “M.J. Delfino. The character will appear in a recurring capacity and is said to be 5 and a half years old. Producers are also looking for a 14-year-old teen to play Parker Scavo in a regular capacity. The kid has grown into a nice and smart teen that is said to be a techno-geek.
